How to use Vocal EQ Match

The AI changed the sound of your recorded voice a little. Your job is to move the sliders until the AI version sounds like your own mic recording, then save the result with a name. There are no wrong answers. Trust your ears.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Pick the mic you recorded with: Flat mic or Podcast mic (left side, or top on a phone).
  2. Pick a recording. Start with Raw singing, marked Main.
  3. Press Play. Press the Space bar (or tap the buttons) to switch between Your mic and AI + your EQ. Both play at the same moment, so you hear only the difference.
  4. Move a slider up for more of that sound, down for less. Small moves of 1 to 3 dB are usually enough. Double-click a slider to put it back to 0.
  5. Press Match loudness so both versions play equally loud. A louder version always seems better, so this keeps the test fair.
  6. Check the Match picture. The flatter the line and the more it stays inside the shaded band, the closer the match.
  7. Try the other recordings. Choose All 4 recordings under “Changes apply to” to hear the same EQ on Baby cry, Crowd noise and White noise.
  8. Press Save EQ, type a name you will recognise (for example “Flat mic warm v1”) and your own name, then save. Each EQ name can be used only once.
